David Vavrasek

David is Chief Business Officer to Aetion, responsible for leading enterprisewide initiatives and operations that accelerate Aetion’s growth and efficiency. Having joined Aetion in 2019 as its first Chief People Officer, he also leads the People, Legal, and Office of the CEO functions.

David has 20+ years of cross-functional experience building and leading teams across public and private companies, including rapidly scaling, venture-backed businesses. Before joining Aetion, he was one of the first executives at the health tech unicorn Capsule. Prior executive roles include time at Tyco International, XL Group, and New York Life.

While at Tyco International, David founded and served as the General Manager for the company’s efforts to leverage micro-observational sensor data and analytics for use by the insurance industry. These efforts centered on the premise that real-world data can help to supplement and enhance traditional actuarial methodologies. He holds nine issued U.S. patents in this area.

David earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Ithaca College and a master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He is an Eagle Scout and remains active in Scouting.
