Thomas Carella

Thomas “TJ” Carella serves as a Managing Director and Head of the Healthcare Group at Warburg Pincus, based in New York. He is a Director of Alignment Healthcare, PolyPlus Transfection, Quantum Health, SOC Telemed, Summit Health, Vertice Pharma, and WebPT. TJ is also a Director and on the executive committee of the Healthcare Private Equity Association (HCPEA). Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, TJ was a Partner in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and Global Head of the division’s Private Equity activities in the Healthcare sector. While at Goldman Sachs, he led or was actively involved in several investments across Life Sciences, Healthcare Services, and Healthcare Information Technology. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and then obtained his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
