Cathy Polinsky

Cathy Polinsky is the Vice President of Engineering at Shopify, where she leads the company's efforts to build its e-commerce infrastructure and scale its engineering team.

Cathy previously served as the Chief Technology Officer at Stitch Fix where she had responsibility over Engineering, IT, Product, User Experience, and Security functions. She started there in 2016 and helped take the company public in 2017.

Prior to that, Cathy was SVP of Engineering at Salesforce and led a diverse set of initiatives during her 7-year tenure, including launching a new large-scale enterprise search infrastructure and successfully bringing several technology acquisitions onto the Salesforce platform. She has also built robust, large-scale systems and led engineering teams at industry powerhouses like Oracle, Yahoo!, and Amazon. Cathy graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in computer science and was a member of the Swarthmore College Board of Managers from 2014-2019.
