Chief Customer Officer
Marla is Aetion’s Chief Customer Officer, leading the technology company’s teams related to marketing and brand strategy, digital transformation, and other efforts to help Aetion deliver an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
She brings 20+ years of experience driving results and catalyzing industry-wide change across life sciences, technology, and service sectors. Prior to joining Aetion, Marla was IQVIA’s SVP, Strategy, Marketing, and Communication, where she successfully led the rebranding to IQVIA after the IMS Health/Quintiles merger, scaled its go-to-market approach, and created “thought leadership markets” in areas such as human data science and real-world evidence (RWE). Her previous global roles included leading the European and U.S. regions for consulting services and developing global marketing and thought leadership for IMS Health's newly launched RWE business.
Marla has also successfully driven commercial transformations and industry-wide efforts at Pfizer, leading multi-stakeholder efforts to drive health reform, and at McKinsey & Company, building the firm’s expertise in areas such as health care technology, reimbursement, and clinical development. Her prior experience also includes the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress.
She is currently a Board Member of publicly traded Ironwood Pharmaceuticals and has previous nonprofit board experience. Marla's industry leadership has been recognized as an MM&M’s 2019 Hall of Femme Member and winner of PM360 Magazine ELITE 2019 Strategist award.
Marla earned a B.S. in economics from Arizona State University and an MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
